I wrote this about a month ago, as quite a lot of folks said they'd rather make a donation even if it's only a £1 than send cards this year.

Was shocked when it appeared today in Joint Endeavour volunteer newsletter.

Please feel free to copy and paste it or use it to send to your friends

For those that have asked so they could share here it is. Thanks for all your kind comments :)

If you'd rather not send me Christmas cards
As you feel it's all quite grim
to spend that money on something
that ends up in the recycling bin

Why not spend that same cash
on something that stays around
long after christmas has come and gone
would you donate your shiny pound?

There's a charity called NRAS
and they help the likes of me
to deal with Rheumatoid Arthritis
it's that thing I have you see

your pound could support the helpline
or help to start up a local group
go on to raise awareness
and generally do good

So if you think of trees at Christmas
and don't want to worry about the post
consider spending that shiny pound
where it would be appreciated most

So If my poem has inspired you
to bring some christmas cheer
to support the work of NRAS
then you can donate right here
